42 Twenty acknowledge and pay respect to the land and the traditional families of the Yugambeh region of South East Queensland and their Elders past present and emerging.

The Yugambeh region includes families that identify as Kombumerri, Mununjali, Wangerriburra and others. We also acknowledge the many Aboriginal people from other regions as well as Torres Strait Islander and South Sea Islander peoples who now live in the local area and have made an important contribution to the community.

42 Twenty resides in a special place near Burleigh Headland, called Jellurgal in Yugambeh. The rock formations at the top of Jellurgal are the fingers of Jabreen, who laid down to rest after creating this place. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
